Kinect for Windows v2

The latest sensor and the SDK 2.0 take natural user interactions with computers to the next level, offering greater overall precision, responsiveness, and intuitive capabilities to accelerate the development of applications that respond to movement, gesture, and voice. The sensor’s color camera is enhanced with full 1080p video that can be displayed in the same resolution as the viewing screen. In addition to now tracking as many as six people and 25 body joints per person, the tracked positions are more anatomically correct and stable—and the range of tracking is broader. The higher depth fidelity makes it significantly easier to see smaller objects, to see all objects more clearly, and to view objects in three dimensions (3D). The image below illustrates these significant depth fidelity improvements by comparing the original sensor (left frame) with the v2 sensor (right frame).

Bonita VICON 3D Tracking System

Bonita is Vicon’s small optical camera family reliably streams the precise motion of markers, whether they are attached to people, animals or machines. Building on over 30 years of innovation, Bonita’s speed, flexibility and affordability redefine the possibilities of motion capture.

Leap Motion

The Leap Motion Controller tracks all 10 fingers up to 1/100th of a millimeter. The Leap Motion Controller can track your movements at a rate of over 200 frames per second. It’s a super-wide 150° field of view and a Z-axis for depth. That means you can move your hands in 3D, just like you do in the real world. With Leap Motion apps, you can reach out and grab objects and move them around.
